Round House Theatre (Blake Robison, Producing Artistic Director) is an established LORT theatre in Bethesda, Maryland (part of the greater Washington DC theatre community). Now in its 31st Season, Round House is recognized nationally for its innovative literary adaptations and its commitment to new works. “Cuckoo’s Nest” is part of its successful Literary Works Project, re-interpreting contemporary and classical novels for modern audiences.
SEEKING:
CHIEF BROMDEN: (male to play Native American convincingly, 30-50 years old) Must be 6’3” or taller. Dominating presence physically but carries himself modestly around other people. Seemingly quiet, yet highly articulate since he functions as the narrator of the play (unlike the film version). A voice of wisdom and inquiry amidst the chaotic, charged atmosphere of the ward around him. Ideally we would like to cast a Native American actor.
